The Leader of Our Church

Rev. Father Zacharia serves as the dedicated spiritual leader of St. Apkar Armenian Apostolic Church, guiding our community with faith, wisdom, and compassion. Ordained in the rich traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Fr. Zacharia brings years of theological training and pastoral experience to his role. With a deep commitment to preserving Armenian heritage and fostering spiritual growth, he leads our liturgical services, provides pastoral care, and inspires our congregation through his teachings. Under his guidance, St. Apkar continues to thrive as a beacon of faith, culture, and unity for Armenian families in Arizona.

A Vibrant Community

St. Apkar Armenian Apostolic Church is proud to host a vibrant and engaged community, offering a variety of programs that bring our members together in faith, fellowship, and service. The Ladies Society provides opportunities for charitable work and social connection, while the Bible Reading Club fosters spiritual growth and understanding through shared scripture study. Our youth are actively involved through the Armenian Church Youth Organization (ACYO), which encourages leadership, cultural engagement, and community service. Additionally, our Sunday School nurtures the next generation by teaching the foundations of the Armenian Apostolic faith and heritage in an inspiring and supportive environment. Contact us to learn more about these opportunities to connect, grow, and serve within our church family.

Our Mission Statement

“Where Faith is Celebrated in God and our Community.”

St. Apkar Armenian Apostolic Church calls believers to Holy Baptism and to live in communion in which God’s presence is experienced, shared and celebrated within the rich culture of our Armenian heritage.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we strive to cherish and convey our more than 1700 year Christian values which are deeply rooted to help those in need, and to be an accepting and loving community for all people.

Therefore, as proud descendants of the first Christian nation on earth, we commit ourselves to faithful witness of Jesus Christ.  Our ancestors died during the Armenian Genocide, as true inheritors of Christ’s sacrificial faith.

We are witnesses of the Risen Lord and we are to live as a resurrected nation. We share understanding, tolerance, truth, forgiveness, love, hope and peace.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.”

— Psalm 23:4
